Is the course live or recorded?
All courses in the Online Courses and Training Catalog are prerecorded and available when it works for you! This means there is no specific time you have to login and you can train when it works for you!
How exactly do online courses work?
Great question! With so many formats to receive online training it can be a bit overwhelming. I host all my trainings on a platform called Thinkific. Once you are signed up for my school you can purchase corses and have them added to your dashboard.
Once enrolled you will click into the course and once you are in it will look exactly like the picture below. Each course is broken down into digestible modules. The first module takes you through exactly how to use the course and includes all the downloads and handouts. Each video module will have a recording of the course powerpoint and nearly all (except for my Cognitive Behavioral Play Therapy course) will have a little video of me as you work through the course.
Do I have to wait to get access or can I get into the course right away?
As soon as you sign up to my Meehan Mental Health Services school on Thinkific and complete the course purchase it will show up immediately to your dashboard. You can login at any time and work through the modules.
What if I have a question?
Questions are awesome and definitely help us learn! I love when course students reach out to ask a question or a clarification. Even though I am not with you in real time you can always email me at [email protected] for any questions or clarifications you have as you are working your way through the course!
Do I have a certain amount of time to complete the course?
No! I mean if we are honest it is best to complete the course as close to purchase as possible BUT there is no rush! You will have full access to rewatch or re-download any of the materials in the course for the life of the course. You can come back to it at any time AND if there are extras added to the course you will have access to any additional materials added!
How do I get my CEs?
Getting your CEs is smooth sailing! At the end of the course you will have access to a link that will automatically bring up the course evaluation and quiz to attain your CEs. Upon completion it will instantly (okay it might take a minute or two) be sent directly to your inbox!
Do you offer CEs for my licensure board in Minnesota? Florida? New York?
My CEs are offered through the Association For Play Therapy and EMDRIA. Both have rigorous processes to grant a program the ability to offer CE credits. I would encourage you to check with your state licensure board to see if credits from APT or EMDRIA (when applicable) would apply for your licensure renewal.
CE courses do count towards working on becoming a Registered Play Therapist or updating your credential through the Association For Play Therapy or working towards EMDRIA Certification for EMDR or renewing certification.
